Trauma: Why Healing Isn't Magic

When you’ve experienced trauma, it’s natural to want it gone. You want to feel like yourself, to stop carrying the memories, fear and pain — and all the years you may have been carrying them for.
But healing isn’t about erasing what happened. You have to be involved in the process.
Seeking out a healer or spiritual practice may bring comfort, insight or a sense of release — and for some people, that can be a meaningful part of their journey.
But healing from trauma isn’t something that can simply be removed in one session. It can, however, lift a layer — sometimes gently, like lifting silk — creating a little more space, awareness and ease.
Trauma is complex. It can affect your thoughts, emotions, relationships and nervous system. While a powerful experience may leave you feeling lighter, it doesn’t necessarily mean the trauma itself has disappeared.
Real and lasting healing takes time, a bucket full of patience and self-understanding. It can involve recognising your triggers, learning to feel safe in your body, setting boundaries, changing habits and behaviours, and processing difficult experiences. And often, you won’t even notice your own progress because change can happen so gradually.
As a healer, I wish I could take all the pain away. But through my own experiences of pain and suffering, I’ve learned that there is no real growth without moving through difficult experiences. Unfair, I know! However, change is definately possible.
I also deeply trust my intuition, my own knowledge and the guidance I receive from spirit when working with clients. These are an important part of how I support people.
My work is energetic and intuitive. I listen not only to what you tell me, but also to what I sense and feel as we work together. I may notice patterns, emotions or energetic layers that are asking to be explored, and I use this insight to offer guidance and healing techniques that are tailored to you and where you are in that moment, even if it doesn't make sense lol.
But sometimes, we simply aren’t ready to see certain parts of ourselves. And that is okay.
The approaches I use may bring things to the surface that you’re not yet ready to look at, acknowledge or change. Sometimes we need more time. Sometimes we need to feel safer first. Sometimes we need to come back when we’re ready to see ourselves from a different perspective.
There is no judgement in that.
You don’t have to be ready for everything all at once.
My role isn’t to force something open or tell you what you should be seeing. It’s to support you, trust the process and create a space where you can explore what is ready to be explored.
Because ultimately, I don’t believe I can do the healing for you.
The most powerful part of healing is often the self-exploration — learning to understand yourself, your patterns, your emotions and the experiences that have shaped you.
There’s nothing wrong with seeking spiritual or holistic support. At the same time, be cautious of anyone who promises to completely remove your trauma or guarantees an instant transformation.
Healing is about gradually building a life where what happened to you no longer has the same power over you, today or tomorrow. You don’t have to heal overnight. You just have to keep moving towards feeling safe, whole and yourself again.
