I have been fascinated with ghosts and death since a young child...I still am! But not in the horror movie kind of way.

Feeling haunted or sensing a presence that doesn’t feel quite right can be unsettling and frightening. Whether it’s unexplained noises, strange sensations, or feeling a persistent presence, it’s important to remember that you’re not alone—and there are ways to address and clear this experience.

Over the years I have felt the pressure change on the bed as if someone was sat next to me, on another occassion when I opened my eyes a shadow figure would run away and through a wall, I've even experienced a finger poking me on my back which woke me up!

When I was a little girl I used to hear someone shout my name whilst using the hairdryer (white noise), or from down the hallway in our home, or I'd hear footsteps walking up and down the staircase that was infront of my bedroom...... to name but a few instances.

It can also mean that someone from spirit is trying to connect with you! (though I won't go in to that in this post).

Here’s what you can do if you feel haunted:

1. Stay Calm and Ground Yourself

First and foremost, take a deep breath. Ground yourself by connecting with your body—move so that you can feel your feet on the ground, breathe deeply, and remind yourself that you are safe. Fear can sometimes amplify the situation, so calming your mind is a crucial first step.

2. Set Clear Boundaries

Speak aloud or silently affirm, “This space is mine, it is sacred and protected. Only loving and positive energies are welcome here.” Visualise a bright, protective light surrounding you and your space (before you sleep if it is happening during the night). Setting boundaries helps to establish your authority and invites only positive energies of love and light.

3. Perform a Cleansing Ritual

Use sage, palo santo, or other cleansing herbs to purify your environment. You can also sprinkle salt around your space or use essential oils like frankincense, sage, or lavender to clear residual energies. Play calming or uplifting music to shift the energy in your space.

4. Invite Divine or Sacred Help

Call upon your spiritual guides, angels, or higher self to assist. You might say, “I ask for protection and guidance. Only energies of love, light, and highest good are welcome here.”

5. Identify and Address the Source

Sometimes, hauntings can be linked to unresolved emotional issues, past trauma, or lingering energy from previous inhabitants. Reflect on any past experiences or feelings that might be contributing. If needed, seek help from a trusted energy healer, medium, or spiritual advisor.

6. Seek Support if Needed

If the experience persists or feels overwhelming, don’t hesitate to reach out to a professional. There are many trained practitioners who specialise in clearing negative energies and assisting with spiritual disturbances.

7. Maintain Your Inner Peace

Regular meditation, prayer, or grounding exercises can help maintain your spiritual boundaries and keep your energy field strong. Trust in your own power to create a safe, peaceful environment.

Feeling haunted can be unsettling, but it’s often a sign that your energy boundaries need to be reinforced or that there’s unresolved energy needing attention within the space it is happening.

Trust your intuition, take proactive steps, and seek support if necessary. You are a powerful creator of your space, and you have the ability to restore peace and harmony.
